Alan's Vision for North Vancouver
A community where:
- our natural environment is respected and its preservation and enhancement are front and centre in everyone's minds.
- people of all ages can feel safe and secure at all times.
- where our seniors can expect to live out their lives in whatever form of housing they choose.
- where our young people can find all sorts of productive and constructive outlets for their creative and physical energy.
- where nobody "falls through the cracks."
- where it is relatively easy to move from one place to another on foot, by car, bicycle and most importantly, public transit.
- people can feel free to express themselves without fear.
- diverse viewpoints are encouraged and respected.
- literacy is fostered through an excellent, accessible Public Library system.
- natural and organized recreation services are accessible to all
A community that:
- encourages and facilitates young families through support of childcare initiatives. accords complete respect and acceptance to people of all creeds, colours and countries of origin.
- encourages diverse housing alternatives that enable young people to remain in the community
and that are accessible to young families and seniors alike.
- supports business and industry enabling more of our citizens to work close to home without having to leave the North Shore.
A community that succeeds because nobody fails!
